This course provides a comprehensive overview of occupational health and safety, focusing on hazard identification, classification, and relevant legislative frameworks. Students will explore occupational diseases, health risk assessments, hygiene practices, and emergency preparedness in workplace settings. Emphasis is placed on human factors and organizational dynamics in managing risks. By the end of the course, you will be equipped to implement control measures, promote safe work practices, and foster a culture of safety in your professional environments.
π― By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- β 1.Ability to apply concepts and principles of hazard group in developing standard operating procedures for an inherently safer process (C3, PLO1) (C3).
- β 2.Ability to evaluate the health risks in different work environments (C5, PLO2) (C5).
- β 3.Ability to design the safe work environment and procedure to reduce risks (C6, PLO7) (C6).
